Last month, decorahnews.com reported on Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum's plans to redo the outdoor spaces around its Water Street museum buildings (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2020/02/24438.html)

Now we can tell you the museum has a timeline for the project.  Vesterheim officials say the bidding deadline on the project has passed and they will be reviewing the bids soon.

A groundbreaking celebration for Vesterheim Heritage Park is scheduled for early May, probably in conjunction with a meeting of the museum's board of directors. Details will be released soon.

During construction, outdoor tours will be discontinued and access to the area will be restricted to ensure visitor safety.  Construction work will be temporarily suspended July 24th and 25th during Nordic Fest.

Work is slated to be completed in the fall.
