#8: A two-vehicle collision on County W-40 in February took the lives of two teenagers and injured four others.  A teenager lost control of her car, crossed the center line and was hit by a truck.  The driver and one passenger were killed and four passengers were injured. #7: Is every election in Decorah a close one?  A referendum on whether the City of Decorah should investigate creating a municipal electric utility eventually lost by five votes, 1,380 to 1,385.  There was a recount, of course, which added just one "no" vote to the total, so a lengthy campaign by Decorah Power and Alliant Energy was settled by the narrowest of margins.  (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2018/05/19244.html)
