A two-vehicle collision on County W-40 around 8:30 Monday morning has taken the lives of two teenagers.
The Iowa State Patrol says a car driven by 17-year-old Avery Arneson of Decorah was heading north on County W-40, while a truck driven by 15-year-old Gage Dahlberg of Decorah was traveling south on W-40. Arneson lost control of her car, crossed the center line and was sliding sideways when the passenger side of the car was hit by Dahlberg's truck.
Avery Arneson was killed in the crash, as was 13-year-old Aiden Arneson. Four others were injured--15-year-old Jack Arneson, 14-year-old Alexander Arneson, 14-year-old Ames Arneson and Gage Dahlberg.
Alexander Arneson was taken to Gundersen Health Systems. The three others were taken by ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center.
