The U.S, Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has added Winneshiek County to the Presidential Disaster Declaration that Iowa originally received on August 27th for storm damage July 19th through the 23rd.
High winds caused damages throughout Winneshiek county July 19th (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2017/07/17072.html). FEMA originally had included Allamakee, Bremer, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette and Mitchell counties in its disaster declaration. Winneshiek and Dubuque counties now have been added to the list.
Under this amended disaster declaration, state and local agencies and eligible private nonprofit organizations may apply for disaster reimbursement funding for eligible costs incurred to repair and/or replace facilities in these counties that have been damaged by July's storms.
