#8:  Decorah resident Mark Rollins loved to hunt.  But when he went hunting in Montana in September, he did not return when expected.  After several days of searching by Montana police and rescue officers, the sad news was learned that Rollins had fallen off a cliff while hunting and died.  (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2016/09/14672.html)

#7:  In a case in which the plaintiff's attorney was Decorah lawyer Nick Rowley, it was big news in August when a Howard County jury came back with a $1.5 million judgement in a civil suit involving a traffic accident.  (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2016/08/14301.html).  Then Judge Margaret Lingreen overturned the verdict in December, making it an even bigger story.  (http://www.decorahnews.com/news-stories/2016/12/15250.html)
