What changes has the Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees promised to the State Auditor's Office?

The State of Iowa's Auditor's Office has released copies of letters from Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees president Ben Wyatt and Winneshiek Medical Center legal counsel Diane Kutzko.

The letters spell out the steps the WMC Board of Trustees has taken since the Auditor's Office began its inquiry into the board's compliance with the Iowa Open Meetings Law.

Wyatt's letter says the WMC Board now maintains both minutes and recordings of closed sessions; has discontinued the practice of scheduling "closed sessions" on the agenda if no specific reason for holding a closed session is posted; is specifying the practicular code sections of the Iowa Open Meetings Law for closing board sessions; and has begun training with regard to the Iowa Open Meetings Law.

Wyatt's letter can be found at http://www.decorahnews.com/606Wyatt-affidavit.pdf.  Kutzko's letter can be found by clicking on the link below.
