Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Who serves on the Winneshiek County Compensation Board?"

(editor's note: The Winneshiek County Compensation Board recently recommended giving Winneshiek County elected officials a 2.5 percent pay raise for next fiscal year.  You can read more about the recommendation at http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2011/12/1486.html.

That led Kris to e-mail Mr. Answer Person: "Who is on the Winneshiek County Compensation Board?"

Mr. Answer Person says: There are seven people who serve on the Compensation Board.  Al Etteldorf of Decorah is the Chairperson.  Dennis Hovden of Ridgeway is the Vice Chairperson.  Other Commission members are Jim Burns, Roger Goulson, Rich Tenneson, Vic Pinckney and Ron Stoskopf.

One additional answer, even though you didn't ask this question.  The recommendation of the Winneshiek County Compensation Board is just that--a recommendation to the Winneshiek County Board.  The county supervisors will vote on the pay recommendations following the public hearing on the 2012-2013 Winneshiek County budget--which probably will be held on one of the first two Mondays in March.
