County Compensation Board recommends 2.5 percent pay raises for elected officials

The Winneshiek County Compensation Board is recommending awarding 2.5 percent pay raises to all county elected officials.

The recommendation will now be sent on to the Winneshiek County Board.

The recommendations call for Sheriff Lee Bohr to be paid $64,190 a year; County Attorney Andy Van der Maaten to receive $57,156 a year; County Treasurer Wayne Walter to be paid $49,392 a year; County Auditor Ben Steines to receive $49,013 a year and County Recorder Teresa to receive $48,124 a year.

In addition, County Board Chair Les Askelson would receive $28,954 a year, while all four other supervisors each would be paid $28,236 a year.
