Northeast Iowa sees a decline in its 14-day average positivity rating

The six counties that make up NE Iowa collectively report an average 14-day COVID-19 positivity rating of 17 percent. That's down 2 percent from two weeks ago.

Four of the six counties report a decline in positivity ratings from one week ago. Chickasaw County dropped from 23 percent to 18 percent; Clayton County dropped from 21 percent to 17 percent; Fayette County dropped from 14 percent to 11 percent; Howard County dropped from 17 percent to 14 percent. Only Allamakee County reports an increase in its positivity rate (23 percent one week ago compared to 25 percent today). Winneshiek County remains at 17 percent positivity - the same rate it was one week ago. Collectively, the six-county region of NE Iowa dropped two percentage points — from 19 percent to 17 percent positivity.

Winneshiek County reports 430 active positive cases, Fayette County reports 391, Clayton County reports 388, Allamakee County reports 378, Howard County reports 224, and Chickasaw County reports 182.

As of Thursday morning, Clayton County reports 1,232 total COVID-19 cases since March; Winneshiek County reports 1,165 total cases; Fayette County reports 1,160 total cases; Allamakee County reports 980 cases; Chickasaw County reports 945 total cases; Howard County reports 612 cases. That means there have been 6,094 residents of the six county area who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past nine months.
