Letter to the Editor: Locust Road detour showed the need for other road projects

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Dale Johnson of Decorah):

Now that the Locust Road will soon be in use, many of us have found alternate ways to get into Decorah. Some of these routes we never realized made it easier to access other sides of town. These are all gravel roads. It made us wish we were in Wisconsin, where it seems everything is a blacktop.

I wanted to throw out a few ideas for future year's hard surfaces: Meadowlark from Locust Road to Highway 52; Highland Drive to Quarry Hill; Quarry Hill from Highland Drive to Ice Cave; Whitetail to Clayhill; Middle Hesper from Meadow Lark to Locust.

These are just thoughts for the future. One last thought-please don't delay any work on the Bluffton Blacktop.
