City of Decorah officials have begun looking beyond the Locust Road Project to discuss what street projects ought to be tackled next within the city limits.
The newest list foresees using $1 million in bonding proceeds from the Locust Road Project to pay for a reconstruction of East Main Street. The city would like to get bids on such a project early next year, then start construction on the project as soon as possible next spring. The city has issued $7.8 million in bonds, but is spending $4.3 million for Locust Road.
Looking ahead, city officials would want to tackle replacing the Pole Line Bridge next year, with bids opened on the project next February. Other 2021 projects would include putting an overlay on some side streets off East Main Street and completing work on the Steyer Bridge.
