Property at 802 Commerce Drive in Decorah—the former home of the Cho Sun restaurant—is getting new owners. REN Properties, LLC, a corporation formed by Decorah business owner Russell Novak, has bought the property for $200,000 from Waukon businessman Jeffrey Allison. The current structure on the property is just a shell of a building, according to Novak, so additional work will be needed.
Novak told city officials this week his corporation plans to spend an additional $200,000 bringing the empty shell of a building up to usable condition, including adding plumbing. Novak says the property needs repairs to a retaining wall on the edge of the property, as well as a new parking lot.
When all the work is finished, REN Properties plans to put a fireplace store in the building.
