The Decorah City Council has approved a ten-year lease to the 9-1-1 Board of space on the Decorah Business Park water tower. The 9-1-1 Board will install additional antennae on the water tower to improved Internet communications in the area, expanding the coverage for 9-1-1 communications and equipment.
Installation of the new equipment will be done by AcenTek. Using the city's water tower for an antenna site will provide greater coverage and quality than a standalone tower would.
As part of the agreement, the 9-1-1 Board will allow the City of Decorah's Street Department to use the antennae as well.
