The City of Decorah is displaying flags in recognition of Gay Pride Month

Pride flags have been put up along Water Street in downtown Decorah in recognition of June as Pride Month.

While the Pride March and other associated events have been cancelled because of the COVID-19 epidemic, the flags are in recognition of the month.

Flying the Pride flags is part of the city's new flag policy, approved earlier this year.  US flags flew for five weeks in April and May in support and solidarity of everyone impacted by the pandemic.  Decorah Schools and Luther College flags flew for almost two weeks at the end of May in recognition of the 2020 commencements.
