Georgiann Eckheart of Decorah took photos of Sunday night's approaching rainstorm.
National Weather Service La Crosse Office meteorologist Todd Shea, when he saw this photo, said, "this is a classic SHELF CLOUD photo that can often be seen on the front of many thunderstorms. It usually indicates gusty or strong winds on the leading edge of the storms. It is not typically a sign of any tornado activity."
Thanks to Georgiann for allowing us to share her photos with our readers!
