70% of COVID-19 deaths were people with pre-existing conditions

Statewide, there have been 686 deaths from COVID-19, and 70% of those deaths were people with confirmed pre-existing conditions. Only 7% of deaths were people without pre-existing conditions, and the rest were unknown.

However, 50% of the 26,047 statewide, positive COVID-19 cases are people with no pre-existing conditions while only 25% of the cases are people with a pre-existing condition. The last 25% of cases' statuses for pre-existing conditions are unknown.
