When averaging all May temperatures from 1895 to 2020 (missing data for 1921), this May was 0.2°F cooler than the average of 58.9°F. Overall, 65 Mays were warmer, and 59 were cooler. The highest average May temperature recorded was 67.8°F in 1934, and the lowest reaches down to 48.7°F in 1924.
May 2020's precipitation totaled at 4.58 inches, 0.34 inches higher than the average amount of 4.23 inches. Compared with other May precipitation from 1895 to 2020 (exempting 1921), 41 Mays were wetter and 83 Mays were drier. The wettest May occurred in 1941 with 12.18 inches of precipitation, and the driest may occurred in 1897 with only 0.79 inches.
