Decorah School Superintendent Mark Lane to take part in Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer's Tuesday panel about broadband

Eastern Iowa Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer on Tuesday morning will lead a virtual roundtable to discuss rural broadband and distance learning. The panel will include Decorah School District Superintendent Mark Lane.

The discussion will focus on needs and challenges concerning high-speed broadband Internet access in rural places, covering distance learning efforts in Iowa's schools; the challenges facing rural broadband deployment; and efforts by the House Task Force on Rural Broadband to close the digital divide in rural areas.

Joining Finkenauer and Lane will be House Majority Whip James Clyburn from South Carolina, the Chairman of the House Democratic Rural Broadband Task Force, and La Motte, Iowa phone company manager JoAnne Gregorich.
