The 2019-2020 school year is drawing to a close—the first year in which Mark Lane has served as the district's superintendent.
In an e-mail to families with students in Decorah Schools, Lane took a look back at the previous months:
"I never could have imagined that my first year with Decorah Community School District would draw to a close with students returning their iPads and laptops after 10 weeks of emergency closure and continuous learning.
I am incredibly thankful to our staff, students, families, and community for the incredible resilience, patience, compassion, perseverance, collaboration, and responsibility that has been demonstrated throughout this experience. I can confidently say, I will never forget my first year as superintendent with Decorah Schools. While this year has been filled with challenges, it has been equally filled with successes and joys."
