


Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies handled two traffic accidents on Tuesday.
Shortly after 4:15 p.m. they were called to County Road B16 and 256th Avenue. 30-year-old Lourdes Quiahua of Ridgeway was eastbound on County Road B16 and slowed to make a left turn on 256th Avenue, but went into the east ditch and rolled onto the passenger side. Quiahua and her passenger were not injured. The accident caused $3,500 in damages. Quiahua was ticketed for not having a valid driver's license and for failure to provide proof of insurance.
Around 7:45 p.m. deputies were called to Whitetail Road north of Decorah. 16-year-old Carter Falck of Decorah rear-ended a truck being driven by 16-year-old Isabel Ihde of Decorah. The accident caused $4,500 of damage. No injuries were reported. Falck was ticketed for failure to maintain control.
