The Winneshiek County Treasurer's Office says it has just received word from the Iowa DOT that teenagers can now do driver's license upgrades by going to the website https://iowadot.gov/mvd/driverslicense/under-18
The change is being made because most driver's license stations are closed at this time. A parent or guardian needs to complete the Remote Issuance Parent's/Guardian's Consent Form. After they process the completed form, a customer service representative will contact you during normal service center business hours (Tuesday-Saturday) using the phone number provided to begin the process. This can take between 5 to 7 business days.
Customers between 18 and 69 can also do simple renewals online by going to www.mymvd.iowadot.gov.
