Supplies to help Winneshiek County organizations cope with the COVID-19 outbreak arrived in Decorah on Saturday afternoon.
The supplies were a shipment requested by Winneshiek County Emergency Government to state officials in Des Moines.
Winneshiek County Emergency Management Coordinator Sean Snyder says the shipment contains the remaining items which had not been delivered from his original request filed with state officials. He describes it as "not a massive shipment" and reminds local organizations that they must first loook for their own suppliers of personal protective equipment, then contact Emergency Management only if their supplies are running out, with just seven to ten days remaining.
Now that the supplies have been delivered, the next step is to distribute them to organizations throughout the county which are on the front line of responding to the coronavirus outbreak.
