County approves agreement with City of Decorah to put out Locust Road detour signs on county roads

Winneshiek County Supervisors have approved a 28E agreement with the City of Decorah which will help detour traffic during the Locust Road project.

Under the agreement, Winneshiek County will put out detour signs at the Locust intersection of Locust Road, pointing traffic to 337th Street, then to North Winn Road, as a detour of traffic away from Locust Road in Decorah.

The detour signs are primarily aimed at truck traffic and out-of-town drivers, since one county official noted, "Local traffic is going to go where it wants to go."
