Winneshiek County Supervisor Mark Kuhn to seek re-election

Winneshiek County Supervisor Mark Kuhn says he will seek another term on the county board.

Kuhn, a Democrat, raises registered Angus cattle and is a sales representative for American Breeder Service.  He represents District 5 on the county board, which covers Freemont, Burr Oak, Orleans, Bluffton, Lincoln, Madison, Sumner, Jackson and Washington townships and a small portion of Decorah Township--all but one of the 10 townships on the western half of Winneshiek County.

Kuhn was first elected to the county board in 2012 and re-elected in 2016.  "I have enjoyed working with my fellow supervisors, and other county employees," he says, adding, "I have also enjoyed working with the various regional and county appointments."

Kuhn says if he is re-elected to the county board, "I would like to continue the work on our 5-year comprehensive plan for road projects that the current board has set for priorities.  We have limited dollars to work with and feel the priorities set forward will be the most beneficial for the county. Hard surface road rehabilitation must keep moving forward, along with taking care of our county gravel roads."
