Eight Decorah residents have been arrested by Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies on drug charges in three separate events

Sunday at 6:15 p.m., the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office took eight Decorah area residents in custody after serving warrants for drug-related charges.

The warrants were served at 105 Center Street, 605 College Drive, and 1601 Valdres Road. These search warrants resulted in six felony drug charges, five serious misdemeanor drug charges and six simple misdemeanor drug charges.

28- year-old Austin Gealta of Decorah was jailed and charged with serious misdemeanor possession of controlled substance-marijuana, serious misdemeanor possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine, and simple misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

58-year-old Rebecca Mercer of Decorah was jailed and charged with serious misdemeanor possession of controlled substance-marijuana, and simple misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

20-year-old Kaleb Wikert of Decorah was jailed and charged with D felony possession of marijuana 3rd or subsequent and simple misdemeanor possession drug Paraphernalia.

19-year-old Bryce McEndree of Decorah was jailed and charged with serious misdemeanor possession of marijuana and simple misdemeanor possession drug Paraphernalia.

18-year-old William Moore of Decorah was jailed and charged with serious misdemeanor possession of marijuana and simple misdemeanor possession drug paraphernalia.

24-year-old Jacob Willitts of Decorah was jailed and charged with D felony possession of marijuana 3rd or subsequent and simple misdemeanor possession drug Paraphernalia.

21-year-old Cyrek Nelson of Decorah was jailed and charged with (3) D felony counts of possession of a schedule I controlled substance- marijuana-with intent to deliver.

21-year-old Tanner Gage Carolus of Decorah was jailed and charged with D felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance- marijuana-with intent to deliver.

This case remains under investigation, with additional arrests and charges pending.  The Winneshiek County Attorney's Office and Decorah Police Department assisted the Sheriff's Office.
