Dry Run Park--the pocket park on the east end of Water Street near Dry Run Creek--is getting closer and closer to becoming a reality.
Decorah Park-Rec Director Andy Nimrod says Downtown Decorah Betterment is "on track" to raise $162,000 in donations, which would not only pay for the cost of the park, but would set up a reserve fund to cover maintenance expenses.
Nimrod says the goal is to have a bid opening for construction work some time in March.
The Decorah Park Board has endorsed the project--but has stated the money for the park must come from private donations, not Park Board funds.
