Palmer is campaigning for District 4 County Board seat

Castalia area farmer Caite Palmer has announced her candidacy for Winneshiek County Board in District 4, which covers Bloomfield, Calmar, Military and Springfield townships, including Spilllville, Calmar, Ossian and Castalia.

She farms with her husband, two young children and in-laws on their 5th generation family farm in rural Castalia. She received the Women in Ag Leadership award from Iowa State University in 2018, and has served multiple terms on the Decorah Farmers Market board.

Palmer announced her candidacy by saying, "My biggest goal is to make it not only possible for our kids to stay here, but for it to be an exciting, positive thing. I'm running my campaign the same way we do our farm, by building relationships and looking to the future".
