The Nordic Fest Board is looking for five new board members.
The five openings are for:
--Volunteer Coordinator, who would recruit and match up volunteers with the needs of the various Fest committees. This is a new position and therefore will largely work with and learn from the Nordic Fest President and Vice President.
--Co-Chair of the Food Booth Team, who would work with food vendor contacts to answer questions and provide assistance, track vendor agreements and assist with booth placement for the Fest.
--Co-Chair of the Kid's Activities Team, who would be responsible for securing groups and individuals to perform kids' activities during the Fest, would create related promotional information (with the assistance of the Marketing Team) and would coordinate performance schedules, locations, and props.
--Co-Chair of the Physical Management Team, who would provide logistical support for other teams such as ordering and moving equipment, coordinating student volunteers, setting up and tearing down event venues.
--Co-Chair of the Merchandise Team, which is responsible for determining, ordering and organizing all Official Nordic Fest merchandise within budget and managing sales of merchandise during Nordic Fest at Decorah Chamber of Commerce.
Those interested in one of the available seats will join as co-chair for their respective area, in order to benefit from the experience of those who have served in the various positions of the board.
These board positions are open to anyone who would like to serve on the Nordic Fest board. Board appointments are for three years on a voluntary basis. Board members are asked to attend monthly board meetings.
Interested people should contact Nordic Fest Board President Kory Courtney or Vice President Alyssa Ritter at
nordicfestia@gmail.com as soon as possible. In your email, please include which co-chair position you would like to fill.
This year's Nordic Fest, will be held Thursday through Saturday, July 23rd through the 25th. For more information about Nordic Fest, visit
