New member has been appointed to the Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission

The Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission will soon have a new member.

The Decorah City Council has approved the nomination of Jarra Essa to serve on the commission.  Decorah mayor Lorraine Borowski said she talked to "three excellent candidates" for the position, then nominated Essa because he has some skills not normally found in candidates for the commission, including past work as a business entrepreneur and business coach.  Essa also has done work as a strategic planner.

Borowski said she was "very impressed" by Essa.

The nomination was approved unanimously by the Decorah City Council.
