Updated information: Ten Decorah HS student/athletes earn All-State academic honors

Ten Decorah High School seniors have earned fall academic all-state recognition.  They were recognized at Tuesday night's boys basketball game at the high school.

Senior football players Galen Iverson, David Johanningmeier, Mitchell Leschensky, Andrew Magner, Elijah Mitchell, Seth Shindelar and Tucker Young were seven of 81 student athletes from Class 3A to receive academic all-state honors from the Iowa Football Coaches Association.  Galen is the son of Greg and Cathy Iverson, David is the son of Scott and Kerri Johanningmeier, Mitchell is the son of Jeff and Elizabeth Leschensky, Andrew is the son of Dave Magner and Sarah Zbornik, Eli is the son of Dave and Bridgette Mitchell, Seth is the son of Brian and Lori Shindelar and Tucker is the son of Jon and Shawn Young. 

Senior volleyball players Ambria Pipho and Alexis Svestka were two of 117 seniors from across the state to earn this honor from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.  Ambria is the daughter of Jon and Amy Pipho and Lexie is the daughter of Kent and Brenda Svestka.  

Senior Meg Sessions was one of 37 female student athletes statewide to receive this honor from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.  Meg is the daughter of Erik Sessions and Sara Peterson.
