Brent Roske has visited a lot of Iowa towns.
That's because he visited them as Democratic Presidential candidate John Delaney's Iowa Campaign Chair. In fact, the final six weeks before the Iowa Caucus saw Delaney, Roske and the rest of the campaign staff boarding a campaign bus in the morning and driving down an Iowa highway as part of three to five towns they would visit that day.
"The days of the week got sorta blurred together," he told decorahnews.com. But he also says he loved the experience. He says going town to town with a very retail campaign was his suggestion and it always included stops for door to door campaigning and events at local restaurants.
Roske is the son-in-law of Patty and Kevin Ellingson of Decorah. Their daughter, Dana, met Brent while they were both living in the Los Angeles area, but moved back to Iowa and got married two-and-a-half years ago and now live in a house in Des Moines that is within sight of the State Capitol.
While Brent's background is in television--he worked for NBC/Universal in Burbank--he has also been interested in politics and produced an Emmy nominated TV series called "Roske on Politics." Before joining the Delaney campaign, he was the Iowa Chair for Marianne Williamson.
While John Delaney has ended his Presidential campaign, Roske says he is "amazingly positive" about his experience--"It was a treat."
