Public hearing set for March 9th to discuss 2020/2021 academic school calendar

The Decorah community is invited to attend a public hearing on the proposed 2020/2021 hours-based academic school calendar.

The meeting will be held on Monday, March 9th at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Administration Office, which is located at 510 Winnebago Street.

Many factors were taken into consideration with this proposal of switching from a days-based schedule to an hours-based one, including total number of required instructional hours and how weather cancellations will impact the calendar.

Superintendent Mark Lane emphasized, "A great deal of collaboration and staff feedback went into designing the proposed hours-based 2020/2021 student academic calendar."
