An accident shortly before 4:30 Thursday afternoon in Decorah sent two people to the hospital.
Decorah Police say 65-year-old George Haack of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin drove through the stop sign at the intersection of Dudley Street and Division Street. The driver of an SUV, 38-year-old Kelly Farley of Decorah, was unable to stop and struck Haack's vehicle. A third motorist, 37-year-old Brandy Jo Cline of West Union, was also unable to stop. Her truck also struck Haack's vehicle--and pushed it over the curb and onto the lawn of a nearby home.
All three vehicles were seriously damaged, with police estimating the total cost at $25,000. Haack and Cline were both taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance with suspected non-life threatening injuries.
Haack was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.
