December was a good month financially for Winneshiek Medical Center

An increase in Net Patient Revenues in December at Winneshiek Medical Center led to an improved financial performance for the month.
The medical center says it had an operating gain of $243,222 in December. The latest financial report from WMC credits an increase in clinic visits and surgical cases as causes of the increase.
When non-operating revenues were added, Winneshiek Medical Center had a net gain of $359,904 in December.
For the first six months of the fiscal year, WMC is still showing an operating loss--$438,771. However, when non-operating revenues are added, there is now a net gain of $166,664 for the first six months.
Net revenues at WMC have increased by 7.2 percent from last fiscal year, but operating expenses have increased by 9.1 percent during that time.
