Decorah Polie were called to the Centrum Plaza shortly before 11:00 Monday morning.  77-year-old Sondra Pierce attempted to park her SUV, but she says the sun got in her eyes and she struck a yellow post in the parking lot.

Pierce was not injured and no tickets were issued.  The accident did an estimated $5,300 in damages.

Shortly after 5:30 Monday evening, Decorah Police were called to Ohio Street and Mound Street.  16-year-old Braden Peterson was traveling east on Mound Street and trying to turn on his car lights.  He told police he did not see the stop sign at Ohio Street, so he failed to stop and hit a car driven by 34-year-old Leisel Schutte of Decorah.

The accident did a total of $10,000 in damages.  Neither driver was injured.  Peterson was issued a ticket for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.
