


The Decorah Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident on Monday evening.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that 16-year-old Braden Peterson of Decorah was driving east on Mound Street when he failed to obey the stop sign and struck 34-year-old Leisel Schutte of Decorah who was traveling north on Ohio Street. The collision caused Schutte's 2015 Ford Focus to strike a ulility pole and caused $5,000 of damage to the vehicle. Peterson's 2005 Pontiac G6 also sustained $5,000 of damage. Airbags were deployed but no injuries were reported.
Peterson was cited for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way.
