A West Union resident with multiple drug-related convictions is now back in the Winneshiek County Jail.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says deputies took 49-year-old Robert Coonradt into custody Sunday afternoon in Calmar on a warrant for violating parole.  Coonradt was taken to the Winneshiek County Jail.

In August of 2017 Coonradt was convicted of third offense possession of methamphetamine.  He had previous convictions in other cases in 2014 and 2015.  Then on January 23rd of this year, Fayette County deputies pulled over the vehicle he was driving.  The deputies determined that Coonradt's driver's license was suspended. The deputy then requested that Coonradt empty his pockets and then discovered a marijuana pipe and a small bag of marijuana.

Coonradt was taken into custody and then transferred to Winneshiek County Jail after Winneshiek County authorities got a warrant issued.
