County supervisors approve a smaller pay raise for themselves

Winneshiek County Supervisors have pared down their 2020-2021 pay raise recommended by the Winneshiek County Compensation Board.

In its annual review of the salaries of elected officials in Winneshiek County, the Compensation Board in December recommended setting supervisor salaries at $37,680 a year as of July 1st of this year.

On Monday the supervisors approved a resolution calling for a two percent cost of living increase instead of the recommended three percent pay raise approved by the Compensation Board.  If the resolution is approved following a budget heading later this spring, supervisors would be paid $37,314 a year starting July 1st.
