Two Funds Established to Support the North and South Bear Creek Watersheds

Posted: Sun, Jan 12, 2020 4:08 PM

Two new funds have been established for the preservation and conservation of the water quality and wildlife habitat within the North and South Bear Creek Watersheds.

Warren and Lois Shuros have established the funds through the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.  "Growing up roaming these hills and valleys, hunting and fishing made conservation and preservation of our natural habitat a passion of ours," said Warren.

The North and South Bear Creek Watershed Endowment Fund and the North and South Bear Creek Watershed Quasi Endowment Fund were created through the Winneshiek County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, and will provide long-term, stable sources of income for the future of the watersheds.

Financial gifts of any size to the funds are welcome. Gifts can be made to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, 3117 Greenhill Circle, Cedar Falls, IA, 50613. Checks to the endowment fund should be made payable to North and South Bear Creek Watershed Endowment Fund. Gifts can also be made on the Community Foundation's secure website at fund.cfneia.org/watershed-endowment. Checks to the quasi endowment fund should be made payable to North and South Bear Creek Watershed Quasi Endowment Fund. Gifts to the quasi endowment fund can also be made online at fund.cfneia.org/watershed-quasi.
