DNR warns that ice on lakes might not be safe

The warmer winter temperatures we've been having might be enjoyable for most of us, but they create hazards for people who want to go ice fishing.

The Iowa DNR has issued another warning about deteriorating ice conditions.

At Brushy Creek Lake near Fort Dodge late last week, a man fell through the ice.  The accident occurred approximately 50 yards from the north boat ramp.
Fortunately, a nearby friend was able to push a sled to the man and pull him out of the water.
The DNR says, "Although the ice may appear safe and thick enough for people to walk on, ice conditions are deteriorating."
