


The Decorah City Council has approved a schedule of street improvements for the July 1st, 2020 to June 30th, 2021 fiscal year.
The budget calls for using $1 million in local option sales tax receipts to pay for $383,000 worth of work to Short Street from Centrum Drive to Kerr Drive; $180,000 for work on Commerce Drive adjacent to the new Kwik Star; $80,000 for work on the Steyer Bridge; and $436,000 for pavement rehab and overlays on Valley View Drive, East Main Street and William Street.
In addition, the 2021 Fiscal Year budget calls for spending $5.7 million on the Locust Road reconstruction project; $808,100 on Ridge Road renovation and patching; and $785,000 on Quarry Hill and College Drive storm sewer improvements. The additional spending will be paid through a bonding project.
