Slippery bridgetop causes an accident

The Decorah Police Department responded to a two-car collision due to slippery bridgetop this morning just before 8:00.

17-year-old Arielle Gosman of Decorah was stopped in traffic at a red traffic signal heading south on College Drive. Meanwhile, 17-year-old Gabriel Vilardo of Decorah approached from behind and slid on the ice-covered bridge when he attempted to stop. Vilardo struck the back of Gossman's vehicle, causing $2,200 of damage to her vehicle and $2,500 of damage to his. No injuries were reported.
