The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says it was called to Hesper Township Thursday following a Wednesday night accident.
62-year-old Mark Stutzman of Canton was traveling east on County Road A14 and lost control, entered the north ditch, hit a field driveway and landed in a cornfield. Stutzman spent the night in the cornfield before anyone was aware of the accident.
He was taken to a hospital by ambulance the next morning. Stutzman was ticketed for failure to maintain control. The accident caused over $6,000 in damages.
