The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office reports two vehicles were involved in a minor accident on Friday evening in Washington Township.
16-year-old Rylee Schumacher of New Hampton was traveling north on Highway 24 and slowed at the intersection of Highway 24 and 265th Ave due to a vehicle in front of her yielding to make a left turn. 20-year-old Austin Flynn of Ogden was behind Schumacher and was unable to stop and rear-ended Schumacher. The collision caused a combined $11,000 in damage. No ambulance transport was needed. Flynn was cited for failure to reduce speed to a reasonable and proper rate.
