Orthopedic Surgeon Rick Wilkerson is joining the staff of Winneshiek Medical Center Decorah Clinic.  Dr. Wilkerson will begin seeing patients and performing surgeries at Winneshiek Medical Center in September.

Dr. Wilkerson comes to Winneshiek Medical Center after more than 30 years building a successful practice in Spencer, Iowa.  He says, "The opportunity at Winneshiek Medical Center is the perfect fit at this stage of my career.  I can continue to provide orthopedic care while reducing the administrative responsibilities of my previous practice.  I look forward to expanding orthopedic services to the people in this region, and offering quality surgical care locally."

Dr. Wilkerson is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. His orthopedic surgery training was completed at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.  Along with academic appointments, he served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery in Fort Hood, Texas before joining Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint and Sports Surgeons in 1989 in Spencer.
