Winneshiek Medical Center lost money in May

Winneshiek Medical Center continues to feel the impact of national trends in health care.

The hospital and clinic reports an Operating Loss of --$471,920 for May and a Net Loss of --$429,631.

WMC Chief Administrative Office Lisa Radtke told WMC Board members this week that the medical center "is doing a great job of controlling expenses."  However, the hospital has had a lower inpatient census this fiscal year.

At the end of eleven months of the 2018-2019 fiscal year, Winneshiek Medical Center is reporting an Operating Loss of --$1,580,098.  Even with non-operating revenues of $617,027, WMC has a Net Loss of --$963,071.  However, last year at this time, the Net Loss for fiscal year 2017-2018 was --$1,370,775.
