


Six area nonprofit organizations have been awarded community grants totaling $16,000 from the Alliant Energy Foundation.
Two of those organizations are from Decorah. Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity was given a $5,000 grant to help with the construction of the latest Habitat home. Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation was given a $3,000 grant in support of its financial literacy & budgeting class.
Other NE Iowa non-profits receiving grants were Friends of the Marquette Driftless Area ($2,500); NE Iowa Resource Conservation and Development ($2,500); Tripoli Community School District ($2,000) and Parent Share and Support of Oelwein ($1,000).
Statewide, the Alliant Energy Foundation is issuing 145 grants totaling more than $400,000.
