The Interim Decorah Community School Board, which will essentially transition into the Decorah Community School Board in July, reviewed several items at its meeting on Monday night.
North Winneshiek finances appear to be good shape, and after all accounts are settled the remaining fund balances will transfer to the new district in September. There are sufficient Capital Project funds to cover the recently approved septic system (includes removal of sewage lagoon) that will cost about $200,000. Other work at the school includes lock replacement, underground gas tank removal, cleaning, and security camera installation.
The Board discussed the need to tour the North Winneshiek facility early in July with the new superintendent, Mark Lane.
