The Winneshiek County Emergency Management Agency will be sponsoring an Active Shooter Training Thursday and Friday in Decorah at the Decorah Middle School.
Law Enforcement, Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services will learn tactics, techniques and procedures specific to a unified group response as a rescue task force in a terrorist, active shooter or any other hostile incident.
Thursday and Friday will be "hands-on" portions of the training with multiple "live" scenarios being taught inside and outside of the school. The training will be fast-paced and is intended to mimic real-world scenarios. Residents near the training site need not be alarmed.
