Luther's wind turbine could go back into operation this weekend

For more than two months, the Luther College wind turbine has sat idle as Luther staffers waited for the delivery of a part necessary for repairing the turbine.

Luther College Center for Sustainable Communities Director Jim Martin-Schramm tells decorahnews.com, "My understanding is that the guys finally installed the remaining parts earlier this week.   Now we are waiting for sufficient wind."

The nacelle on the wind turbine has been rotating, looking for enough wind to open up the blades.  Forecasts call for 10-mile-an-hour winds Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, so the wind turbine should go back into operation this weekend.
